An Artistic DNA that has been flowing for over 100 years

This is the story of a family: the Granchi family, one of those Italian families that in the economic fabric of our country constitute the "vital hub" of companies that are born from the love for the product they create. It all starts in the '60s with a very small company. Paolo and Gianna, husband and wife, founded SIGMA L2 that with care and craftsmanship produces lights, vases, objects and furnishings in ceramics. Both are dynamic, aesthetic, attentive to research and new ideas see grow, together with their passion, the company they created whose products begin to impose themselves not only in the Italian market, but also abroad where they become ambassadors of that "made in Italy" that has contributed so much to the growth of the country. Gianna immediately shows her strong taste and aesthetic sense that finds her most complete expression in the ability to enhance the shapes with the choice of colours and the combination of fabrics. Paolo transforms into his creations the multifaceted exuberance of his character. A lover of life, he is a tireless traveller and a curious observer capable of grasping beauty in all its forms. Instinctive musician, talented painter is a creative with a powerful artistic streak inherited from his father Delio where here we give the following historical hints. At the beginning of 90th’s, Florence is a very active artistic centre in which Delio is an appreciated sculptor, painter and ceramist who participates in the lively Tuscan artistic and cultural climate of his time. He is founder and then president of the Donatello Group, re-founder and Councillor in the Antica Compagnia del Paiolo and member of the Academy of the Arts of Design where in the 70s he plays a decisive role for the rebirth of this authoritative institution. His works reach the Rome Quadriennale and the International Biennale. The artistic sensitivity of his grandfather is also inherited by his grandchildren Simone and Francesca, lovers of beautiful things and quality, able to perceive and anticipate the evolution of taste, endowed of great intuition. The sons of Paolo and Gianna enter in the company very young, in 1993, after the premature death of their father, they continue the path of stylistic research that still distinguishes the production of SIGMA L2. They are formed under the guidance of their mother and, with time, lead the company to open to new developments, making it increasingly eclectic, dynamic and exclusive, while preserving the cultural peculiarity of the artisan manufacture from whose tradition everything originated. Distinguished by the small Crab that has become a symbol of the brand, they introduce innovative processes and without fear experiment with new combinations and daring combinations. Ceramic is now mixed with many materials such as brass and iron, glass and crystal, wood and marble, hard stones and leather, etc
